Create a resort that respects local traditions and culture and at the same at the forefront of architectural and ecological concepts was the challenge set by the client. Two dominant orientations in the village of TCHIAKPÉ- BENIN dictated the organisation of the space and the distribution of the equipment on the site. These orientations will be the anchor for the foundation and coverings of the different spaces, creating a homogenous and unifying image.

Sustainability will be the basis for all interventions on virgin land so that the ecological footprint is as small as possible. Sustainable and conscious consumption, use of renewable energies, energy efficiency, water saving and reuse, water recycling, use of wood of certified origin, etc, recycling of waste, use of wood from certified sources, etc. will be concepts that will be present from the design phase, through construction and operation of the resort.

STRATEGY

The sense of arrival and the lay of the land were the starting points for developing the programme. These, together with the two strong and dominant orientations in the village of TCHIAKPÉ, define paths and orientations of the buildings. The rigid and geometric routes give way to more organic forms as we move away from the lagoon and reach the bungalows area, which is intended to be more relaxed and natural. All areas are perfectly defined functionally, maintaining the language that will unify the entire Resort.

The deck will be used on all routes in order to have an autoctope material, thus interfering as little as possible in the natural landscape.

REFUGES INTEGRATED IN NATURE
The perfect harmony between architecture and nature in a idyllic and unspoilt setting virgin state.
